We say, ‘Hello, Cecilia’
Last week Standing O said goodbye to Marilyn Gelber, this week Standing O welcomes Cecilia Clarke.
Standing O pal Cecilia assumed the mantle of CEO and president from Gelber at the Brooklyn Community Foundation on June 30.
Board chairman Alan Fishman is thrilled.
“Cecilia is a passionate leader and a creative thinker, who has succeeded enormously at every phase of her career,” he said. “We are thrilled to have her lead the foundation.”
The new CEO is the former executive director of the Sadie Nash Leadership Project. Before that she led the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Cecilia earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, and now lives in Fort Greene with her husband and three children.
She officially starts in September. Chief operating officer Michael Burke will act as interim president until then.
Standing O welcomes Cecilia aboard, and wishes her a long and promising career with the foundation that does good, right here in the County of Kings.
