A 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly damaging the ceiling and window of a New York City Housing Authority Building on Avenue H on June 9.
According to police, the defendant was in the building between Paerdegat Avenue South and E. 56th Street at 9:45 am when he tore wires out of the ceiling, kicked through a window on the second floor, and then dropped a power drill out of the window onto the steps of the main entrance of the building. Police also said that when they arrested the defendant, they found a Ziploc bag filled with marijuana.
The defendant is being charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Hundred-dollar grab
Police arrested a 51-year-old who they say stole $100 from a man on June 10 on Flatbush Avenue.
The victim said he was between Kings Highway and Flatlands Avenue at 1 pm when the suspect took the money from him.
The defendant is being charged with grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal possession.
Samsung swipe
A 29-year-old man was arrested for punching another man and attempting to steal his phone on Kings Highway on June 4.
The victim told police he was between Flatbush Avenue and E. 40th Street at 11:20 pm when the defendant hit him in the face and said “I want it” while reaching for the Samsung cellphone he was holding.
The defendant is being charged with attempted robbery, attempted grand larceny, assault, attempted assault, attempted petit larceny, menacing and harassment.
