Brooklyn is the world.
The international hub that is our borough gave rise to two Olympic medalists — and, fittingly, they represented different countries.
Lia Neal, a 17-year-old swimmer who grew up in Flatbush, made America proud when she took home a bronze in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay with Team USA.
Meanwhile, sprinter Lalonde Gordon — who spent grueling months training for the games at Red Hook Park — took home two bronze medals, one for the 400-meter race and another for the 4x400-meter relay. And he did it for Trinidad and Tobago.
