Cops are looking for tips on the identity and whereabouts of a man they say attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl at scissorpoint in Coney Island on April 30. The police declined to specify the location of the attack.
The victim told police that the perp — described as white, wearing all black, and in his 30s — was already in the building’s elevator when she entered the lift at 3:30 pm.
The two rode down to the basement, where the victim said the suspect pulled out a pair of shears, forced her out of the hoist, and tried to rape her. The victim resisted, and the villain fled.
Authorities ask anyone with any information about the alleged attack call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–5477, log onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text to 274637 and then enter TIP577. Tips and tipsters are all confidential.
