Police arrested three men and a woman who they say were involved in a high-speed chase through Marine Park on Wednesday that ended when the car they were in smashed into a concrete column in a movie theater parking garage on Knapp Street.

A 911 call about a robbery at Avenue P and E. 25th Street in Marine Park sparked the chase at 2:15 pm, which by the end included squad cars from the 61st, 63rd, and 69th precincts, as well as the highway patrol. Cops pursued the suspects at high speeds down Flatbush Avenue and then west along the Belt Parkway, according to a source inside the 63rd Precinct.

“Yeah it was a big chase. We got four of them,” said the source. “They’re all bad guys.”

In addition to the four suspects, officers found a large bag of marijuana inside a purple duffle bag in the hatchback, and along with a large box of Dutch Masters cigars.

Police also recovered a BB pistol on E. 35th Street, where the perps tossed it out the window.

Retired navy photographer Bernie Schachner was cleaning his boat in a marina near where the bust occurred, and was astounded by the massive police presence on both land and in the sky.

“They had helicopters overhead, I was cleaning my boat when I saw them circling round and round,” said Schachner. “When I got up there, there were cars coming from every direction, all around the parking garage.”

The Sheepshead Bay navy man took to shore after seeing police surround the Sheepshead Bay movie theater, and even ventured inside the parking garage where he witnessed the arrest.

“There were cops up on the roof, but apparently the car was on the second level at that point, and as soon as they saw it, they chased him down to the first level where he crashed into a pillar, and they pulled him out and handcuffed him,” Schachner recounted.

It’s not clear at this point what charges will be filed against the suspects, but they appeared to have bungled a robbery near to the Marine Park location where the chase started, according to a source in the 63rd Precinct.

“I think it was a home invasion,” said the police source. “Either a robbery or home invasion.”
