Cops are searching for the gun-toting suspects who killed one man and seriously wounded another during an apparently unprovoked shooting on E. 84th Street.
The gunmen sauntered up to the victims, ages 30 and 31, on foot at around 2:39 am before pulling their weapons and opening fire as a nearby party was letting out between Flatlands Avenue and Avenue J, witnesses said.
When police arrived, they found the victims lying on the ground. Both men had been hit in the torso
The victims were removed to Brookdale Hospital, where the younger victim died of his injuries.
The other gunshot victim was placed in stable condition, and later told investigators that he and his friend didn’t know their attackers. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, a police spokesman said.
Sunday’s bloodbath was the third murder to take place in Canarsie this year. The 69th Precinct had investigated six homicides in 2011, according to NYPD statistics.
