Apple picking
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for robbing a man on Avenue L on July 23, taking his iPod.
The victim told police that he was near Nostrand Avenue at 12:40 pm when the teen asked him for the time. The victim then reached into his pocket and grabbed his iPod, and while he was checking the time, the suspect shoved him against the wall and snatched his Apple appliance, cops said.
On the fence
Police arrested a 30-year-old woman who they say bought stolen goods from undercover officers inside an Utica Avenue grocery store on July 11, July 26, and Aug. 1.
On each date, police officers entered the store between Avenues K and L in the late afternoon, and sold the woman — who operated a jewelry kiosk in the store — gold teeth caps, a gold ring, and a gold chain, which they told her were stolen before the transactions took place.
Slugger
A 42-year-old man was arrested for beating a man — with a baseball bat — on Avenue X on July 31.
The victim told police that he was between E. 72nd and E. 73rd streets at 9:45 pm, when the suspect shoved him to the ground and proceeded to beat him with the Louisville Slugger.
Drug bust
Police arrested a 45-year-old man who they say punched a man on Kings Highway on Aug. 1 — and had the drug Lorazepam on him.
The victim told police that he was near Nostrand Avenue at 2:13 am when the suspect slugged him once in the face.
The arresting officer saw the suspect drop a bag containing eight pills of the controlled substance, according to police.
