A bus driver ran down a woman in Canarsie this morning, killing her instantly as her loving husband looked on.

Lorraine Ferguson, 48, was waiting for the BM2 with her husband Michael, 55, in their car on the frigid January morning at shortly after 7 am, when the pair spotted a bus rolling up Avenue K near E. 105th Street.

Ferguson was making her away across Avenue K, when a charter bus breezed through a stop sign and slammed into the woman, according to Michael Ferguson’s account, which he gave to a New York Post reporter.

“Oh my God, oh my God, somebody help!” her husband bellowed at the scene, according to a witness who spoke with the Post.

First responders rushed to the scene after a witnessed phoned in the accident at 7:13 am, and the woman was pronounced dead where she lay, according to a fire department spokesman.

The bus driver escaped the accident without injury — or criminal charges — although the police investigation remains ongoing, according to a police spokesman.

The driver too shocked to leave his vehicle after the incident, according to witnesses.

“I saw the woman under the bus. Her head was smashed,” Tanzania Martin, 22, told the Post. “She was totally gone. The bus driver never came out. I had to go in and ask, are you okay? He said ‘yes.’”
